Subject: Adrenal More Than Once?

Hi AllOne of my ferrets, Washu has had two seperate adrenal surgeriesthe fi=
rst was for the left side and the second was for the right side. I have not=
iced over the last two or three days Washu has lost a lot of fur. The fur l=
oss it is not the same pattern of hair loss I have seen with her or any of =
our other ferrets that have had adrenal. It is just the middle of her body =
she has not lost any hair on her hind or front legs or on her head and tail=
it is just the body. I am talking about a lot of hair loss she has no guar=
d hairs left just the under coat. (it also seems to be more on her belly th=
an her back) She doesn't seem to have any of the other common symptoms for =
adrenal that she showed the other two times. Washu has not changed her eati=
ng or bathroom habits. The only thing I could say that is out of the norm (=
for her)is she lays on her back and puts her front paws on her stomach and =
kind of pats it a little (like scratching but not that hard) Washu has done=
this since her second surgery but over the last two weeks seems to spend m=
ore of her time in this position. I don't know if it maters but it has been=
about 1 1/2 years since her second surery, first surgery was 2 mo before t=
hat. Could this just be she is loosing fur for the summer I have 5 ferrets =
and none of the others have ever lost this amount of fur in such a short am=
ount of time, or in this kind of pattern. Oh one other thing since 3 mo aft=
er her second surgery I have been giving her melatonin daily. if anyone has=
any ideas that would be great. (sorry for my spelling)Jennifer
