Sorry to hear of your difficulty. I have a little one diagnosed with EGE t=
hru a biopsy of her intestinal tract. The disease is basically an allergy =
to some kind of food. Usually an ingredient found in the kibble. Many tim=
es corn or chicken are the prime suspects.
There are many diets out there for this disease as it is not uncommon in do=
gs and cats. Hills prescription makes a kibble for both dogs and cats. Th=
e only truly hypoallergenic food that I know of though is the Hills prescri=
ption ultra zd for canines. This is the one I currently have to feed Rink=
yDink. It is supplemented with ham baby food (cannot tolerate chicken) as =
extra protein. RinkyDink is also maintained on a very small dose of dex ev=
ery 3 day as pred lost its effectiveness over time.
