Well, we've gotten decent quality and quantity of life for ferrets with insulinoma and we used to go to the trouble of making veryspecial foods during certain illnesses, but we have since found that for many (except if kibble was an impossibility) it was just every bit as good to simply use a/d or all-meat baby foods as the base of the foods. For many nothing more was needed than those foods mixed with heated water for a supplementary food or for a temporary food while a GI tract was recovering from inflammation. Like many I at first found this hard to believe, but Dr. Bruce Williams and our vet at that time convinced us to try it. It's not an approach for a ferret who doesn't fit those categories, but it works just as well as pretty much anything else for those two groupings from our experience.
