Does this happen under specific conditions? The reason I ask is that when "face washing" (moving scent over the head from the glands behind and beneath the ears) a number of our's have held their noses till they had a funny sneeze and that would dislodge more of the scent. You can sniff behind their ears to notice that it does so. Some ferrets are very private about this part of grooming which always strikes us as amusing given how happy they are to share their fecal acheivements with us.
