Hi!
Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I've been having problems posting to thi=
s group. I hope this works. =

So, here's my current problem: One of my foster kids falls over sometimes w=
hen she's running or playing. This problem was much worse a couple of month=
s ago and the vet concluded that she had a soft tissue injury that was heal=
ing. No broken bones were apparent. Her glucose levels are normal - tested =
twice. She exhibits no signs of being in pain. She runs around & bounces gl=
eefully - she's a very happy ferret and is really beautiful (she's a deaf D=
EW with almost an angora coat - luxurious & silky) and seems healthy in all=
other regards. She eats normally. Since she started exhibiting this behavi=
or, though, she won't play with the other ferrets. If they try to play with=
her, she just flops over on her side or back and is very passive. Before s=
he was always up for a good play "fight." I don't know much about this or h=
ave a lot of experience but it seems to me that she has some kind of injury=
that is limiting her mobility. She's still able to climb to the top of the=
6 ft cage to find the treats and carry those big "furry babies" up the tub=
es and 4 ramps but it's not as easy for her and she falls over as she's doi=
ng this -- but she's determined to take her "little ones" to the safe spot =
and she does it within a minute or 2, no matter how many fur toys I leave o=
ut for her to rescue. =

Anyone have any ideas or previous experience that might help me? She's a sh=
elter ferret that I'm fostering. The shelter is great and all the ferrets g=
et excellent care but they spend thousands of $$$ a month on vet care and s=
o, of course, acute conditions get first priority. I'm just trying to help =
figure out what might be wrong so that they don't have to do a lot of expen=
sive and unnecessary tests. Thanks! Nancy
