I have seen ferrets with blood sugars that low that were acting normally the
vast majority of the time. While I agree that most of the time they will be
symptomatic, not all of the ferrets with very low blood sugars are. I
recently (just last night) diagnosed an insulinomic with a blood sugar of 30
whose only symptom had been one episode of falling over - very brief, the
owners are ferret knowledgeable and brought him in asap. At the time I drew
blood he was bright and active.
