Dear Friends,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how to get my Oscar to
take his aminophylline more easily. Apparently it's a very bitter drug and
hard to mask. We've gotten it in grape and vanilla. The pharmacist recently
increased the amount of grape flavoring hoping to make it more palatable.
Oscar still shakes his head and droplets come flying out of his mouth. He
also salivates and it drips out in his saliva. I'm afraid of the amount he
may be losing. I also tried mixing it in food and giving it to him with a
syringe but, for the most part, he spits all of it out. That's why I started
giving it to him by itself with a syringe. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks so much.
Tiffany and Oscar
