Thank you very much for posting back. I tend to ramble, so I tried to make my first post short. I will try to add some more detail in my post below.

She took a biopsy for the IBD, and the results showed his intestine was normal. She then based his symptoms on an ulcer caused by Helicobacter. How she came to Helicobacter I don't know.

During this time she also took biopsies of his liver and pancreas. Both were found to have lesions on them. She said it's not anything to worry about now, but could cause problems in the future. Maybe this is linked??

Most of the time his stool is liquid and tarry. She did a fecal test last week and told us there was no upper GI bleeding. So, I don't know how to respond to the fact that tarry means bleeding. He had been on a low dose of Lomotil for about a month, but she has since had us cut it down and out on the fear he could become dependent. When he was on Lomotil is was still dark, but more formed. He had also been on Prednisone for insulinoma, but since she took the only mass off his pancreas she does not see any reason to continue it. However, I have noticed that when we cut down the Prednisone dose, his prolapsed rectum gets worse. Our vet does not see the connection, and says the Prednisone will only make the ulcer worse.

He has been on duck soup for about 3 months. He will not eat kibble on his own, but will eat duck soup on his own. He is on 1 cc of Carafate three times a day. I would like to raise the dose so I could give him some before every meal, but the vet does not see a need to. She said his stool is probably liquid because his food intake (duck soup) is liquid. She is pushing us to get him back on kibble, so we have since added blended up kibble to his duck soup.

He is also on Actigall. No reason was given, but I think it was because his liver enzymes on a blood test were very high. It might also have to do with his liver lesions?

Any help or areas that I need to change with him would be appreciated.

Thank you very much!
Melissa
