Hi Harold,We don't have ferrets here (in our nature). All are imported from=
Europe or USA (most of them). They only can enter in our country if they a=
re castrated and registered in a gov institution. That's why I'm sure abou=
t her age. This one is a female, sable, ferret. She came from USA. She live=
s with a french family who came to Brazil to work. They arrived here 8 year=
s ago, in the South, where the clima is temperated. Since last August, they=
came to S=E3o Paulo, where we have a subtropical clima. She still suffers =
a lot because heat (about 30 Celsius degrees). Now is autum here and temper=
ature is about 25 Celsius degrees and very umid (about 75%). Her diet is Ma=
rshall Ferret diet and junked food (hahahahaha!!!!!!) . This junked food me=
ans fruits (aple, banana, orange, strawbewrries, etc), Bandit's Marshall tr=
eats, raw fish (japanese food without soy sauce), and everything she can s=
teal (chocolate, cookies, dog's food, etc) . Ah, every Xmas the family flig=
hts to France for holidays and she flights too. I know she was castrated wh=
en she was 20 days old . She had a "husband" , probably her brother, castra=
ted too. He died when he was 8 years old because an insulinoma. She had an =
adrenal tumor when she was 5 years. She was operated and the tumor was comp=
letely removed. When she arrived 8 years ago, she had skin problems, but he=
r owner didn't know exactly what it was. I presume it could be allergy to t=
icks and other insects or mycosis, or both. All pets (dogs, cats, birds) wi=
ch arrived here have these problems. Our clima is very hot and umid. That's =
what I can remember about her. I have to see her medical records for more d=
etails.Karin
