I have not been able to find a lot of information on chordoma. I have another 4 year old ferret that has a small lump - very small lump in the shape of a light bulb at the end of his tail. Ha has had this for about 3 weeks, it doesn't seem to bother him and you cannot even notice it unless you touch the end of his tail. It does not seem to bother him, he is very active and very normal and very healthy otherwise.

Is surgery necessary? If so, what is the process - does a doctor amputate the whole tail or just the tip of it? Is this something that is an in / out type of operation or does he have to be monitored afterwards?
