Lavish attention on him, but do remember that there are physical causes of exhaustion that don't show up in a regular check-up and for them further testing such a CBC with Chemistry Panel, or an in-house blood glucose test, of chest x-rays, or whatever a ferret-knowledgeable vet feels right about trying become the way to go.
This is the sort of symptom and situation in which it is hard to tell if the animal may be depressed, may be ill, or may have combination going on.
