Yes, the pigmentation in ferret noses can change over time, in either direction. That was a recent thread of discussion at Ferret-Genetics in Yahoogroups.
The thing we do when we take in one who has a lot of mutations is we provide extra vet care -- more testing, more appointments, earlier testing, etc. It can make a difference if it turns out to be needed.
