Karin - Hi. I am not a vet. I did however want to point out that my past ferrets have had blockages that did NOT show up on xrays. Gas also showed present on the xrays. I don't doubt that yout babies belly is hurting if it is that bloated up. If it were me I would aim for a exploratory to see if something is blocked up in there. That is just my opinion.
