Hi, everyone,

I agree that cooked chicken and turkey are healthy. I would never give ferrets
something with lots of processed sugar like Fruit Loops. There has been speculation
that sugary foods can increase the chances of a ferret developing insulinoma.

I know ferrets have a sweet tooth. We used to give very tiny bits of fresh apricot to Ryo-
Ohki, who thought it was the greatest stuff in the world. In recent years, though, I've
stuck to meat based treats and the very occasional organic, unsweetened raisin. By
very occasional I mean one or two a week for extra special good behaviour for the two
ferrets who think they are special.

All the best,
Caity
