Yes, we have also been in that same position. Luckily, it was not a permanent blockage and it passed so surgery wasn't needed for him (though it had been at other times).

if the ferret stops deficating, or stops eating or drinking then rapid surgery can be needed to save the ferret's life. A complete blockage can be rapidly fatal.

BTW, we've been fortunate with out ferret-proofing and not had blockages of rubber, vinyl or such, but we had one who liked to eat in his bed and he got one composed of the fibers of fake fleece and fake fur so we began sewing sheeting material over all such fabrics and he never did that again, while the other who had multiple blockages had a malformed and ill (even though treated) stomach which would unusually rapidly (within months at times) form ones of fur.
