Subject: juvenile lymphoma?

Hello everyone,

I'm posting for a friend. His ferret was just diagnosed w/lymphosarcoma and
the vet said his prognosis is poor. Is this the same as lymphoma? And, how
do you tell the difference btwn juvenile lymphoma and adult? Is it merely
determined by the age of the ferret or does the biopsy show the type?

I'm not sure how the ferret was diagnosed... only that he has a large mass by
the intestines and they are waiting for biopsy results. The ferret is a
rescue and the age is not known. He is young, however, probably btwn one and
two yrs. Would this be considered the juvenile type lymphoma?

Also, if lymphosarcoma and lymphoma are different, could you give info. on
lymphosarcoma? I've searched the archives .... sounds like it can be
controlled but cured. Is this correct?

Thank you sooo much.
