Hi everone! I'm Carol and I live in the UK.
About 18 days ago one of my little girls, Buffy, suddenly developed what I thought was a bad ear infection. She had a waxy discharge, she held her head down to one side and walked round in circles. I took her to the vets that day, but he said there was no indication of an ear infection. He suggested it could be an inner ear infection, but that he'd never seen that in a ferret before. He prescribed her baytril for ten days. He also suggested it could be neurological damage,or even Aleutian disease.

There was no improvement so I took her to another vet for a second opinion - she thought it was an inner ear infection, and prescribed another antibiotic, Synulox. She's been on that for 4 days but there's been no real improvement. In every other way she's ok - she's eating, drinking, going to the toilet.
What's really worrying me now is that one of my other girls, Bianca, started to show the same symptoms yesterday. They are not kept together, never play together, although they both use the same play room.

I hope someone out there can help me, apart from giving tlc, I feel helpless. My vets are good, but they don't know as much about ferrets as I'd like.

Thanks
