My two 1/2 year old sable, Peter Carlos, has gone from 3.2 lbs to 2.8 lbs since January. He is active, playful, eating alot, including chicken baby food. (he usually eats superior choice ferret diet from the ferret store) no problem with urine or bowels that I can see. I am worried because he is my baby of the five, but should I be? His coat has also changed from silver to black in the last few weeks, but I think that is just his summer coat. I have never rescued a ferret below age three until him (we found him on the downtown mall two years ago Christmas). Is this weight loss normal?
