Was hoping I can get a little help for my 3.5 y/o man. On 21 April, Harry was opened up and found to have both adrenals infected. (Surprised the heck outta the doc - she wanted to wait for more obvious signs and not just the marking he was doing). She cryo'd the right and removed the left. Harry came thru with flying colors.

But since the surgery he has been "flat". Not back to his old self. Harry normally is my fert who stays awake for long periods of time just cruising around the house with no particular goals in mind. But he would normally stayed awake for hours. Since the surgery, he hardly has any energy and (maybe) stays up for 30 minutes checking things out. The energy he does have is really "flat". I brought him back to the vet for a check up and he was given the DOCP shot which we will do again in 30 days. He is also on .1cc prednisone 1x a day. Next week he will be weaned at 1x per day, every other day, for 7 days.

He has lost interest in eating kibble. He will eat duck soup on his own but looses interest after awhile. However, he does really well when I bottle feed him. So I've been taking him to work and feeding him every 2-4 hrs. His poops are small and have a gelatinous film. He seems to be urinating fine.

Can anyone give me some suggestions to help this guy along? (The vet just called and she would like for me to up the pred to .2cc 2x daily for 2 weeks. If I don't see any improvement by next week we will be doing some blood work on him.) In the meantime is there any thing I can supplement him with that may help his leftover hormones give him some energy and get him back to "normal"?

Thanks for any suggestions.
