The bloodwork sounds good to me... Maybe do it even sooner. Sometimes it
can take some juggling to get the meds right after a bilateral surgery.
Perhaps getting a sodium/potassium reading would be a good idea, to see if
that is out of whack and might account for some of his lethargy.

On the other hand, he just had major major surgery about 10 days ago. If
the blood checks out, he might just still need more recovery time. I'd
probably still be flat out and demanding torb, gravy in bed, and
pillow-fluffing if it was me. :)

With possibly some mucous in his poop and wanting to be handfed, watch for
signs of GI trouble... It's not uncommon for them to have stress-related
problems after surgery (can add carafate if ulcers are suspected - tooth
grinding, poop gets dark/tarry).
