Thanks for pointing me in the right direction in the archives. The posts about Champ were very informative re: kidney failure and a low protein diet. I wasn't able to find anything about the impact of this low protein diet on the insulinoma though.

It sounds like the soups that are often used for ferrets with insulinoma are a problem because of the very high protein. I also have to hope that she will be willing to eat the Hills KD. We go back to the vet today, so I discuss this more.

What I was told about the prednisone is that it is hard on the kidneys, and that is why I am concerned about increasing her dosage. I will also ask about the diazoxide and post anything I learn.
