I originally took Snowie (a 15 mo. female albino) in for barium x-rays susp=
ecting a partial blockage. After spending 4 hours with the vet last night a=
nd looking at x-rays ,we found nothing that really presented as a blockage.=
My vet (who is relatively new to ferrets but is willing to learn and is a =
great vet) was quite sure that what was showing up on x-rays last night was=
an inasuseption (sp). Took her in this morning for surgery and lo and beho=
ld, nothing there...so she took a look around while she had Snowie open...a=
ll looks normal. Snowie is doing well now after her "unnecessary" surgery b=
ut now we need some help. We are both at a loss as to what might be going o=
n. Has anyone gone through anything similar or have any suggestions? What,=
if anything, should we be treating for?

Her symptoms: over the last 1 1/2 months she has slowly been dropping weigh=
t. At first I attributed it to shedding. I started adding heavy whipping cr=
eam to their nightly soup and the other 2 girls have started gaining weight=
while Snowie continued to drop...

Over the last several weeks her poops have been sometimes fine, sometimes s=
mall. Within the last 2 weeks I started noticing more of them were seedy or=
mucousy....and getting looser.

Her appetite started decreasing as well over this past week....
No black, tarry stools, no teeth grinding...

My vet is at a loss as to where to go from here. What do we treat her for? =
She thought maybe Helicobacter....?????? Do any of you have any thoughts? I=
sure would appreciate some help on this...
