I took in a sick female ferret yesterday from a shelter that was going to euthanize her. She's VERY weak but she was found wandering around the city so that's not surprising. At the VERY least she has mites and fleas (I treated her for both yesterday). She has hind end weakness though after a meal of duck soup she is able to take a few steps. No hair loss, no swollen vulva. She will OF COURSE be at the vet first thing in the morning (I'm a vet assistant to a wonderful ferret savvy vet). She will not eat/drink on her own but will happily take water and duck soup every couple of hours directly from me. She's passing normal sttols. The shelter was giving her excessive amounts of nutrical since she wouldn't eat on her own. I'm just looking for any advice/or info that I may be over looking to get her through the night.
