Dr. Murray, Sukie and all others who have written--
Thank you so much for your help! After actually putting into words my
concerns about littlewhitegirl--I realized that I wasn't being over cautious.
Littlewhitegirl was definitely suffering from the rhinitis but also something
else
I left on early Tuesday AM for Dr. WEiss in Maryland.
While palpating the abdomen, he felt an enlarged kidney or tumor--he couldn't
tell so we opted for an Xray. The Xray showed a tumor near the kidney--that,
along with a borderline blood glucose was enough for me to opt for surgery. I
foudn it interesting that the tumor was barely visible and looked like
intestinal tissue on an xray three weeks prior. It grew really quick!
Once inside, Whitey had her 100,000 mile check up.
I am not sure if I got this all right but if I remember correctly she had:
a very big right side adrenal gland (5x the size of normal) which was
attached the vena cava. It was sectioned off and removed. She will now be on
pediapred and percorten.
A tumor on her pancreas--that was removed along with 5% of her pancreas. 4
Black splotches on her liver-he performed a liver lobectomy
and a biopsy of a lypmh node in her stomach that was enlarged.
The vet tech said she gave them a bit of a scare since after removing her
from the ventilator her heart rate when down and she wasn't that happy pink
ferret they wanted to see. They gave her a shot of something to get her heart
going and realized it was probably because she was unable to get enough
oxygen in through her nose since it was so stuffy :( Poor little thing!
After receiving 2 seperate shots of baytril, they have switched her to Orbax
to deal with any post-op infections and the pseudomonas. I hope it gets this
infection!
How do i know if it is gone? Do I need ot put her through that scope again? I
hope not!
The orbax is easier to get in her--but I will give the baytril if i have to.
Anything to get rid of it!
Thank you again!
