Hi All,

A friend of mine has an albino hob, who is probably around 6-7 years old.
About 8 months ago, she noticed him staggering, and he seemed unable to use=
his hind legs properly. She took him to the vet, and after a long physica=
l inspection of his spine, the vet said that he had slipped a disc.
There are times when he can manage to walk, but he is still very wobbley. =
He also goes through periods of constantly falling over and has to pull him=
self along. His right leg seems to work very well, but the left leg, he dr=
ags along. We did a reflex test on him, by putting his left foot (top side=
down) then standing him up - he made no effort to straighten the foot - th=
e reflex of the right leg was fine.
He recently had a long lasting (upto 6 weeks) anti inflamatory injection, b=
ut even thought he seemed a little happier, there is no improvement in his =
walking.
My friend was wondering about some kind of therapy for him, but obviously s=
he needs to be sure it won't damage him further.
Can anyone suggest any gentle therapy that she might try?
She has wondered about hydro-therapy, but is concerned that this might be s=
tressful for him. However, if this would be of benefit to him, then it's w=
orth trying.
I should mention that he has no other known medical conditions.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Carol
