If your vet doesn't do off-hour emergency appointments (A number do offer those.) but uses a telephone answering service you may be able to arrange to discuss it with your vet today if you call and then wait, also if the ferret needs emergency care your vet may be able to talk any vet covering for a weekend through what is needed by phone. (We've had that happen when we had one who needed a round the clock vet present for a few days so had to go to a medemerge each night but the medemerge vets found themselves having to call our's a few times for pointers. It worked.)
