In late 1998 and early 1999, here in Houston, we had about 7 cases of ferrets
going rigid in the hind legs anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks... It was sudden
onset and left just as suddenly.... a cause was never found. The ferret that I
had who did that had her brain and spine sent off for research after she died
three years later. I do not know where it was sent or if anything was ever
determined. Dr Natalie Antinoff of the Gulf Coast Animal Hospital was the
submitting doctor. Hydrotherapy and massage, as well as, physical therapy do
work very well. Vicki
