Subject: Goodbye to Samson

I've been following this group since I found it a few weeks ago(I wish I had found it much earlier), although I've never posted on it. Samson (8.5yo male) was diagnosed with insulinoma about a year ago. He did well on prednizone(sp) untill just recently. My vet tells me that because of his age, he would not recommend an operation to remove it and suggests that I put Samson to sleep (I really hate that term). Samson is clearly in pain and I feel that this is the best course to take, although it is incredibly difficult for me. He has been wonderful for me and I will miss him so much. I will follow this group closely. Hopefully, I can detect problems for the other two (Barnes 4yo and Darcy 3.5yo) before they become so severe. Best wishes to you all.
