Some ferrets begin getting GI upset from chicken so for those few
individuals people often try turkey. A smaller number, like our late
Scooter who did as well as could be expected with his multiple
problems eating beef and lamb baby foods as part of his diet, become
unable to deal with any poultry and then the baby foods used are
other types of meats. There is an interesting past discussion on one
who is even more sensitive with one of those posts at
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/browse.php?msg=SG4006 .

Otherwise, since one of the best vets I know uses chicken baby food I
don't know of any reason to worry except for those unusual ferrets.
