This is urine I gather because you mention that there was a urine
test. Have you considered that he might be having trouble urinating
due to his prostate? This can cause more frequent and smaller spots
of urine or can cause the ferret to sometimes urinate where he
shouldn't to get attention for his problem. If this is the cause
then adrenal neoplasia needs to be considered in relation to this

Here is an easy behavioral cause to consider. Did your janitorial
staff change to a high ammonia content floor cleaning solution? If
so that smells like urine to them and signals that the entire floor
has become a litter box.
