Subject: 7 yr old ferret possibly gone deaf?

Hi, everyone! I have a question. I've seen many reports of blindness
related to aging, but how about deafness? Our seven year old sprite,
Gabrielle, appears to have gone deaf. She no longer reacts to normal
noises, or even her "favorite" stimulus, a squeaky toy! She also cannot
seem to hear us coming. She has what almost look like blood-filled polyps
or tumors in both ears. In each case, these are behind the normal
structure of the ear that you would see from the outside. We are
stumped. Does anyone have any suggestions?
