forwarded with permission, apparently this ferret has an eye ulcer for 3
weeks and
only on pred for 8 days since insulinoma diagnosis. Any suggestions
would
be appreciated.

Thanks,

====================

Hi Patty. Hope to be seeing you tomorrow.

I have another question. A friend’s ferret, that had just been diagnosed
with Insulinoma, (you just sent me all that info-thank you again), has
developed an eye ulcer, and the eye is not reacting to several different
antibiotic treatments. The vet thinks that the pred the ferret is taking
is hindering the eye from healing. I believe she is on the smallest dose
of pred possible. Which doesn’t make much sense to me. So the vet wants
to take the ferret off the pred till the eye heals. She’s been on the
pred 8 days and it is really helping.

Do you have any information on eye ulcers in ferrets? What else can they
give the ferret if they take her off the pred? Have you heard of this
before?

I’m confused as to what to do. Pred or not pred?

Thanks,
