I do NOT know what the current medical take is on these, but years
ago when that option was being considered for one of our's whose
weight loss turned out to be related to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
(with the weight loss stopping when once that was treated) our vet at
that time emphasized that such enzymes should not be added lightly
because the body might always need them afterward. I do not know if
that concern still exists but besides asking here it makes extra
sense to ask your treating vet beforehand (That always makes sense,
of course.).
