Dear Megan:
A glucose over 70 could still be insulinoma, and now, they aren't alays obvious at surgery. This is a case where an insulin test would be advisable. While this is always the most common cause of neurologic signs, there are a few other uncommon possibilities - epilepsy, brain tumors, and there are some mild degenrative conditions of the brain and or cerebellum - bu these are all pretty rare.
With kindest regards,
Bruce Williams, DVM

She gets these head shakes (nods her head up and down) and she falls on her back legs sometimes. I had her glucose checked several times and they all came back well over 70 which is good. But why these symptoms? What else could it be? The day after I took her in for her last glucose check I woke up to find her with major hairloss on her hind end (adrenal, of course) so I scheduled her for surgery and got the call that she got through the surgery fine and that both adrenals were bad and that everything else in the exploratory looked really good (pancreas, etc.). So if it was insulinoma wouldn't it have been noticable? I am so confused on what is wrong with her and I don't know what to do!! I would really appreciate any expertise on this. I have never seen this before and have no clue what it could be if it isn't insulinoma.
