Marie has improved in leaps and bounds! She is walking
slowly and falling over a lot but she is getting steadier
every day. After she started showing the first signs of improvement, the vet had us double her prednisolone dose
to .40 cc's TWICE a day. There has been a tremendous
difference since we did that! She now plays, and has
her old curiosity back. She can't run and doesn't hold
her own at all when playing with our other kit. He
is huge and can be a little rough. Needless to say,
their time together is limited and very supervised!
I was reading the post about Heidi and recognized the
symptoms right away. Marie showed those very things...
stiffness and her neck turning to the right. She does
not have any ear trouble though. She still won't drink
much water at all-you literally have to force it.
I have been trying to read as much as possible about
ferret diseases. The only thing that comes close to her
symptoms is insulinoma, but the vet said that is very
unlikely in a ferret so young (4 mos). So, we still
have no idea what is wrong with her.
We just take it one day at a time and hope she continues
to improve!
Sandy
