Speaking of a balanced diet... my male ferret was operated on, one month ago,
for insulinoma. They removed apx. 20% of his pancreas. He is now on 0.3ml
of Prednisone every other day.

Prior to the surgery he was an absolute pig. The least picky of the bunch,
always came running like Pavlov at even the hint of a treat.

He now has become extremely particular. He barely eats his kibble, yet loves
when I make a mush of crushed kibble, hot water, and Ferretone. The foods I
have tried are Ultimate 8 in 1, FerretStore Brand, Science Diet Kitten,
ProPlan Kitten, Totally Ferret, and IAMs Kitten brand. All hard crunchies,
all he's had before, and loved. I've even tried the soft version of Hill's
a/d and one of the soft Eukanuba's. All to no avail.

His 30 day post-op blood glucose reading was 65. I am to continue w/the same
dosage of Prednisone and make sure he's eating. Does anyone have any
suggestions for food? I hate to force feed an otherwise happy 'lil guy.
Would the crushed kibble, drizzled w/Ferretone, a few times per day, be too
much Ferretone? He's got so much energy now he reminds me of a kit. It's
hard to believe his glucose tested low.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks...
