I am not a vet but I'm thinking if the benadryl helped, then it sounds like
an allergic reaction to something. As someone who is allergic to almost
everything, I can tell you they develop at anytime. Not sure about weasels, but I
am constantly developing new allergies.

Could she have developed an allergy to her food? I believe Sukie has/had a
ferret that can only eat a certain type of meat or a particular type/brand of
food. Maybe a search of the archives, or I'm guessing she'll be able to offer
her expertise.

But... allergies can cause pretty much most of the symptoms you've described.
And, if you've tried removing environmental causes, ie: bedding, cleaning
products, newspapers, litter, etc., then possibly it's the food. Worth a shot,
anyway.

Also, could she have ulcers? The new symptom you're describing (gnashing
teeth, chewing air) sounds like what folks describe when their ferrets develop
ulcers. Are you giving carafate to coat the stomach?

Again, I'm not a vet. Best wishes with your little one... sounds like a
pretty tough case.
