Just an off the wall suggestion... I had one ferret
that would occasionally dig and bite at the cage to
get out when she wasn't feeling well. My ferrets are
usually free roam during the day and in the cage at
night so that might make a difference. It couldn't
hurt to get him a check up if nothing else fixes the
problem. You might also try washing down the cage and
the bedding if you haven't done that since this
started. On the other other hand, maybe something
happened to him the cage (while wrestling with the
other ferrets or something similar) that is causing
him to feel uncomfortable in the cage.
