Give her a different treat that's good for her. You might try a piece
of cooked chicken or turkey. It's OK to salt it lightly if that makes
her more interested in it. Some commercial ferret treats (i.e.: Totally
Ferret Treats) have a fair amount of meat in them and wouldn't be that
bad either. A little ferretone once or twice a day certainly won't hurt
her.

Also, consider making some Bob Church's Chicken Gravy (see:
http//www.trifl.org/gravy.html ) and giving her a little a couple of
times a day. It's believed to be beneficial for ferrets with insulinoma
and a lot of ferrets just seem to love it. I know the recipe looks
intimidating, but using Pam Sessoms' pressure cooker method it really
isn't hard to make at all. We've used it with all our ferrets who have
been under the weather, and our vet has become a believer in it as well.
It always seems to help.

It's probably a good idea at least until you know what care Minnie
needs. If there is a surgery in her future that could get expensive. I
am convinced ferrets are like boats: bottomless pits you pour money
into. I still love mine.

All the best,
