That is so sad, Dr. Ruth. Could they just not
afford the treatment, or didn't they care?

To the original poster: Sorry, but I missed your
post. If it's an abcess, obviously you need to
have it treated immediately. I lost a ferret to
an abcess that was not treated probably by the
vet (he never bothered to put a draining shunt in
the wound... I didn't know any better then, but
sure learned the hard way).

P.S. My lumpy, spewing Griselda is going to the
vet this afternoon. Will let eveyone know what,
if anything, comes of it.

Hey, All --

Sorry for the x-post, but I'm about to leave the
house.

No news on Griselda yet. The vet was finally able
to see her today and before I left for his office
I asked if he needed a stool sample, or wanted
her to fast for a blood sample. He said, Not yet.
Well, now he wants a stool sample. So, no news
till he gets that tomorrow. He did note that she
has lost 2 oz since last month. (The wee thing is
only 1 lb., 6 oz!)

Arrrrgggg! But, good news: she is eating her
kibbles on her own, now. Still getting the baby
food, too.

Thanks, everyone, for caring about my Griselda
girly. Out of all the online communities I've
been involved with (cats, horses, writers, movie
fans, and others) FERRET FOLKS are the BEST.

Thank you, thank you --

Staci
