Some ferrets do this for reasons that aren't known. Had a urine licker myself. There are plenty of theories as to why they do this, but nothing concrete.
It doesn't appear to cause any problems that I'm aware of. Seems to be mostly males too. You know us guys... perhaps the 5 second rule applies. :-)
