I had a ferret who did wonderfully for over a year on Humilin U. She was
receiving 3 units every 3 hours - a huge amount of insulin compared to what
a cat usually is on, for example. We were able to keep her BG in the 100
range at that dose before the Insulinoma kicked in. Then, of course, she was
off all insulin and on pred. I fed her every time I gave her insulin - so,
yes, I was getting up every 3 hours and taking her everywhere with me. Was
it worth it ~ you bet!!!
