Our vet *never* starts that high. His idea of a starting dosage is more
like .10ml pediapred twice daily. In fact, our Lady Ayeka was
maintained for nearly a year on 0.04ml once daily. Without that tiny
dosage her blood glucose would drop and she'd have symptoms. With that
tiny amount of pred her blood glucose level was consistently in the
90-105 range. She is still doing fine on .1ml per day.

In any case, before starting on any medication I would definitely get
the ferret to a vet to have blood glucose checked. Any decent vet
`should be able to do that, even if they don't see many ferrets.
Besides, it sounds like Bingo already had two blood glucose checks and
both were normal. I sure wouldn't start with pred on a ferret with
blood glucose in the normal range.
