Dear Dr. Ruth,
Thank you for your reply again. My holly has taken another turn for the worse and I am starting to believe she has JL instead of anything bacterial. Her temp has gone up again to over 105. The doctor just told me that she doesn't believe Holly would be able to take any kind of sedation to do a biopsy of the lump. I think the fluids are probably just doing what happened with the little one you mentioned- just sustaining her.
Can I ask you how long that little ferret that you treated lasted with the extra treatments? I don't know what else to do now. If there was hope of her getting better, I would do whatever was possible but I do not want to prolong her suffering in any way if there is no hope for her. I dread the thought of euthanizing her and I agreed with the vet that we will keep trying what we are doing but I want to be realistic. I am not the one that is sick and just because I want Holly to survive, if its not going to happen, I don't want to keep torturing her. Any advice is truly appreciated as I am now at a total loss about what is the right thing to do for Holly. Thank you, Margaret
