If you are up for it you may want to invest in a glucometer to check the
glucose at home, give you a better idea of how she averages during the
day. It is possible to manage a mild case of insulinoma with a good
diet.
The less carbs and sugars the better, and the ferret food you mention
look good but you can't add up the protein like that- you would actually
take an average of all the foods you mix together, assuming she eats
them equallly and doesn't pick out more of one than the other.
However, since your mix is pretty good ferret foods, I am sure it is
good.

I also found I had to add something extra- like Bob's church chicken
gravy
or a meat baby food once or twice a day.

There really is no reason to hold off the prednisone if she needs it, I
had
a ferret on it for over a year. I also had one on it for 3 days until
surgery can be scheduled. The surgery I have had a real good success
rate
wtih, no guarantees though.

Good luck,

Patty
