Howdy,

Been here before and unfortunately likely will in the future. I've had a ton of ferret experience but I swear everytime one of the little ones ends up sick I see something new/different/bizaare.

Mazzie (6-ish/male/neutered) came to us about 2 years ago from good home that could no longer care for him. He came with his "brother" (cage mate for life) Jet. 3 months ago Jet died rather suddendly of adrenal cancer, etc. Mazzie was very down-energy for a time but with extra love appeared to have recovered.

1 month ago we got 2 new kits (massive babies - almost 3 lbs each at 2 months!).

Mazzie came down with what I thought was the green slime that week but it never got to be "THAT" color. His diarrhea alternates between greenish brown and a DARK blue-green. From liquid to semi-firm. He is off his feed. At first only slightly but now it is a real fight to get him to take even chicken and kibbles (baby food and softened kibble). And Mazzie is a BIG eater as a rule. He isn't even liking chicken broth.

My vet feels it is likely just stress - having lost his brother and then having the 2 very over-sized babies join the family. He has no fever. And hasn't had during any of this.

Last night he was dehydrated enough I gave him 30cc fluid SQ which he absorbed before we could walk from the kitchen to the bedroom. Today he is brighter but still definitely refusing food.

Any ideas of something to soothe the worried gut?
