Need some advice for Calvin...

To give a little background, he stopped eating around January and has been
going to the vet every couple of weeks since. Started off with soft stool and
progressed to tarry mush. He was being over medicated for many things, but
mainly an ulcer and colitis. Sought a second opinion since he was not getting
better and the new vet said to only keep him on Carafate. We did this for a month
and Calvin is getting even worse.

Finally went back to our first vet last weekend and she treated him for
colitis with Chloramphenicol and Prednisone (Carafate to also be continued). This
past weekend he started throwing up and his stool was pure black. We kept him
hydrated but then he refused duck soup. Woke up this morning to nothing but
pure green water as his "stool". Rushed him off to the vet and she is giving him
sub-q fluids but is a little confused as to what his problem is. He has lost a
pound in less than a month...

I swear he had a raging ulcer that just wasn't being treated properly. At
this point, I can't imagine what's going on. I couldn't include all the details,
so I'll be more than happy to answer any questions. I just would like a few
thoughts as to what might be wrong.

Thank you,
Melissa
