Hello everyone! I'm new to the group, I joined yesterday. I have a little one named "Holly" who, ever since we rescued her has been a biter. Vicoious and unpredictable, she never bit in the obvious places, but chose things like eyebrows, chins and cheeks.
With very diligent discipline, we broke her of it and she is very sweet and affectionate now, except to "Piglet" our youngest.
She used to climb her cage and try to attack her through the bars. We tried repeatedly, over 3 years, to put them together but "Holly" would immediately try to hurt "Piglet". I have had ferrets for 20 years and I know she was not just playing or trying to establish the alpha, she was definatly out for blood. Just like with every other species, there are those animals that you just can't mix. The only ferret "Holly " ever got along with was the cage mate she came to me with, "Buddy", and he has been at the bridge for a year now. Even now that her rear end is parylized, she still will try to attack "Piglet". I believe that some of them just were'nt meant to be together.
