Hi everyone,
I need some help. My 1 1/2 year old ferret Nemo went to the vet yesterday because I thought he looked a little skinny and was wondering if he had worms or heartworm or something. (there have been lots of mosquitoes in my house but my vet didn't think he needed to be on HeartGuard.) Anyway, I also don't know if Nemo has been eating food - he's been hiding it but I don't know for sure if he's been eating it, he sleeps a LITTLE more than usual and he's been drinking water. His poop has been runny. My vet was a little worried and did bloodwork and urine work and got the results back this morning. He said the Chlorine levels were higher, the potassium levels were lower and the globuline levels (?) were very high. He suggested that it might be lymphosarcoma. He wants us to watch Nemo and call him back if lethargy, runny wet poop and overall un-Nemo-ness occurs. We have to go back in a couple weeks to do more tests too if Nemo appears better.
I've been trying to read up on Lymphoma, but wanted some advice from here. If it is Lymphoma, what can I do? What are the chances for survival, and what sort of treatment can Nemo be offered?
