I suspect that the allergic responses may be similar (given that vax reaction signs are) so I'll tell you of some signs of allergy to things like penicillin in humans:

rash
hives
swollen throat
difficulty breathing
dropping blood pressure
red and sometimes swollen face, eyelids, lips, and/or tongue
extreme nervousness
passing out
etc.

Aversion isn't an allergy symptom. His taste may have changed either by itself or in response to illness or medication.
